Started it by doing 3,000 yards of swimming today in 1:04:37. Although my total time for 2,000 yards (the Half-Ironman swim distance) was a little slower than the first half of my 4,000 yards in November (42:23 vs. 41:49), the total for 3,000 yds was actually faster (1:04:37 vs 1:05:04) - so my pace stayed more consistent. Splits:
- 1st 500 yds: 10:19
- 2nd 500 yds: 10:44.5
- 3rd 500 yds: 10:33
- 4th 500 yds: 10:47.5
- Accel Gel & water break: 0:34
- 5th 500 yds: 10:46
- 6th 500 yds: 10:54
In other news, my spin bike arrived today. That was one heavy box (I think the bill of lading said 137 pounds). From the various parts, it looks pretty sweet; however, due to a superhot project at work, no time to put it together yet - will probably have to wait until Wednesday evening at the earliest.
